Inside / Outside City

Harmony Pavilion on South Bethlehem Greenway

Our weather luck finally ran out – the forecast for today (Wednesday, 10/9) is rain all day! Inside/Outside City is CANCELLED – but you can still get involved in pARTicipate: Express yourself, which will be running at the Bethlehem Area Public Library all day, 10a – 5p. Join us to make arts and crafts that will be a part of the closing ceremony! Dave Fry will be joining us at 12:30-2p to provide musical accompaniment for the art-making.

Intrusions of the everyday into our remarkable lives– musical, recreational, and artistic events for public participation! Keep an eye out from the Amphitheater to the Pavilion and beyond for random acts of inclusion. There will be nerd games, athletics, yoga, music making, open comics jam, poetry, and art making. See you at the gaming table / on the field / in the crowd / on the stage / inside / outside!

Drag Queen Story Time: Join Eileen O’Brennan of Drag Queen Story Hour for a glamorous story time! All are welcome to let their imaginations soar while enjoying picture books and imagining a world where people can present as they wish, and dress up is real.

Mikayla’s Voice: These unique programs are designed to showcase children’s talent and creativity as they demonstrate successful inclusion in education, art, sports and recreation. Mikayla’s Voice creates space where children with and without disabilities can work and play together.

Comics Jam: Local cartoonist Lou Allen invites beginners to published comic artists, and everyone in between, to participate in a Comix Jam! As comic pages are passed around, doodlers will create panels of drawings, words, or both, until the page is full. Paper, pens, and markers will be provided, but everyone is welcome to bring their favorite materials. All skill levels and ages welcome.

Agile Rascal Found Art Making: Visiting theater troupe Agile Rascal Touring Bicycle Theatre takes a break from their hunt for utopia to make art out of found objects with citizens of Bethlehem and beyond! Bring a potentially discarded item to life by making it into a piece of art with these champions of environment and creative activism.

Dungeons and Dragons One-Shot: Don your adventuring gear and join Dungeon Master Paul Iacono in a one-shot Dungeon & Dragons campaign, designed especially for Festival Unbound. Characters will be available for play, but feel free to bring your own character sheet, or come early to create your own. Players must be self-guided, confident readers with imagination– but no experience necessary!

The Really Terrible Orchestra – PA (11:00a-12:30p): Do you know how to play an instrument? Great! Forget that, and pick up something you don’t know how to play. That’s how The Really Terrible Orchestra works: Getting people together of all ranges of musical experience and skill levels to play simple tunes… really terribly, and with a lot of fun.

Dave Fry (12:30-2:00p): Dave’s concerts feature both traditional and contemporary folk music, spliced together with guitar, mandolin, banjo, wry and spontaneous commentary on American family life, and plenty of participation on everyone’s part. Dave Fry is unique in his ability to entertain all ages, and he builds a sense of community everywhere he performs.

Kira Willey Yoga and Wellness: Kira Willey is an award-winning children’s music artist, kids’ yoga & mindfulness expert, speaker, and creator of Rockin’ Yoga school programs. Take a moment to breathe and move with mindfulness on the Greenway to reconnect, reinvigorate, and inspire.

Kung Fu: The Bethlehem Kung Fu Center invites you to enjoy the benefits of traditional Chinese Arts of Kung Fu and Tai Chi to steady the mind, strengthen the body, and awaken the spirit. In South Bethlehem for over 40 years, Bethlehem Kung Fu Center excels in training people of all abilities.

Bethlehem Mounted Police: Why the long face? Say hi to the horses Pharaoh, George, Asa, and Grey as they patrol the Greenway to keep our festival fun safe!

Learn to Make a Balloon Animal: MFA student Sean Cassidy of the new Touchstone Theatre / Moravian College Performance Creation program will teach anyone (yes, even you!) how to make a balloon animal. Come with little to no clowning experience, and leave with a rubbery creature of your own creation.
